Mcintosh Farm Lightning Thunderstorm

Lohr-McIntosh farm Agricultural Heritage Center, homestead in 1868 on Boulder County open space in northwest Longmont Colorado. The Barn, Silo, Windmill and cattle run with a lightning monsoon thunderstorm striking over head. This was an incredible storm that started building in the afternoon on a very hot summer day with temps in the high 90s. A very fun night for chasing lightning.

Lightning Strikes Over The Farm

Longmont Colorado, five miles from the Rocky Mountains foothills and ten miles Northeast of Boulder Colorado, a scenic country landscape view of lightning striking in the sky above the Lohr-McIntosh Farm and Agricultural Heritage Center looking towards Boulder SW.

Rabbit Mountain Lightning Thunderstorm Weather Photography

Scenic view from the north end of Boulder County from 75 th street north of 66 looking west toward the rabbit mountain area and the foothills around Lyons. Lightning strikes were hitting hard C2C and C2G. Nature putting on a great light show this night. The storm was up and down the front range ins foothills as well as hitting in the east. Started off with some big size hail and east and out of the area around 10:30PM. This is three 30 sec exposures stacked. F8 – ISO 400 – 18mm.

Lightning Striking Over Coot Lake and Boulder Reservoir

Scenic view of lightning striking over the Boulder Reservoir and Coot lake in the evening sky with city lights. Boulder Colorado, Boulder County. Boulder Reservoir is a 700-acre, multi-use recreation and water-storage facility, owned and managed by the City of Boulder and operated as a water supply by the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District. It is used for recreation, drinking water and irrigation. Popular recreation activities at the reservoir include boating, swimming, sun bathing, water skiing, fishing, picnics, walking, running, cycling and wildlife viewing.Coot Lake and its adjacent marshes are one of Boulder County’s richest wetland communities and bird watching destinations. Loons, grebes, ducks, gulls, blackbirds, red tail hawks, kestrels and the namesake coot are common, while ospreys and herons (summer) and bald eagles (winter) are familiar seasonal residents.
