Agriculture landscape of a farmer working the fields, kicking up some dirt dust on the farm. Lookout road and 95th street a familiar sight in East Boulder County where there is a lot of farming and farmers markets. Farming and ranching in Colorado grew up alongside mining and town building. The influx of gold seekers created a market for meat, flour, vegetables, and other foodstuff. Several of the newcomers saw that farming and cattle raising would produce a more certain income than prospecting for gold. They learned to grow crops in Coloradoâs semi-arid climate by irrigating the fields.

Lohr-McIntosh farm Agricultural Heritage Center, homestead in 1868 on Boulder County open space in northwest Longmont Colorado. The Barn, Silo, Windmill and cattle run with a lightning monsoon thunderstorm striking over head and in Boulder in the distance. This was an incredible storm that started building in the afternoon on a very hot summer day with temps in the high 90s. A very fun night for chasing lightning.
