Lightning Thunderstorm Over North Boulder Colorado

Lightning Over North Boulder Colorado IBM Acrylic Print

Colorado Lightning Thunderstorm May 23rd, 2011.  This storm came in from the south, I was in North Boulder County and saw it hitting over boulder and the Flatirons.  There were four award winning shots that I took with my eyes and mind but could not get a good location to get that shot in time.

It was hitting about every ten to 15 minutes and lightning bolts hit over Boulder about  8 -10  times, good cloud to cloud and to ground strikes.  By the time I got here it started to die and go north.  This is the 2nd shot in this storm looking NW from 75th Street, west towards the Rocky Mountains front range foothills.  Lights on the right are from IBM and behind that is Hay Stack Mountain.  Buy a custom print online –  Lightning Thunderstorm Over North Boulder Colorado

The first teepees were used by American Indians in the Great Plains. The name is derived from the Lakota tribe’s word “tipi,” which literally translates to “they dwell
