The Wishing Bone Country Lightning Strike
Lightning striking above a farm in the shape of a wishing bone in the sky, SW Weld County Colorado somewhere near Mead. Love these country views when lightning starts striking and dancing in the sky. This is the area that when the storms come in over the Rockies they head out to the NE part of the state and get even more intense.

Medicine Bow Snowy Mountain Range Wyoming Lake View Video
Scenic lake view of the Medicine Bow Mountain Range in Wyoming west of Laramie. High elevations, peaks and lakes dominate the southern and northern reaches of the range, with lower, forested ridges being the mainstay in between.
On the western fringes of the central portion of the range, the North Platte River cuts a deep, narrow, canyon over 20 miles long. The range features 18 peaks over 11,000 feet and includes 9 over 12,000 feet, with 12,951 ft. Clark Peak being the highest.

Medicine Bow Mountain Range Lake Panorama
Panorama scenic lake view of the Medicine Bow Mountain Range in Wyoming west of Laramie. Two and half hour drive from Boulder County, Colorado. Great day trip. This is a very large 12 portrait images stitched together fine art panorama print.
The Medicine Bow Mountains are a mountain range in the Rocky Mountains that extend for 100-mile from northern Colorado into southern Wyoming. The northern extent of this range is the sub-range the Snowy Range. From the northern end of Colorado’s Never Summer Mountains, the Medicine Bow mountains extend north from Cameron Pass along the border between Larimer and Jackson counties in Colorado and northward into south central Wyoming. In Wyoming, the range sits west of Laramie, in Albany and Carbon counties to the route of the Union Pacific Railroad and U.S. Interstate 80.

Rollinsville Colorado Afternoon Lightning Thunderstorm Time Lapse
Afternoon thunderstorms roll in to the high elevation in the Colorado Rocky Mountains almost on a daily basis in the late spring into summer. Lightning strikes once or twice and also moves in and out pretty fast. Mostly in the early or late afternoon time of day. It is vary hard to catch a still shot without a lightning trigger. At this time I do not use one nor have I ever used one. This is the first image that I have caught lightning in the high elevation of the mountains. Watch the storm tracking and really though this was a good chance and it happened according to plan. It only took me 8 years but it finally worked out.
4:00pm, June 13th, 2015. This date and the number thirteen is a lucky number in our family because it is my sisters Kathie’s birthday. She passed away a few years ago so I can only think she had something to do with this image. Happy Birthday Kathie!
This is a view of lightning striking over the very small rustic town of Rollinsville Colorado, Gilpin County. The snow covered continental divide is right below the lightning bolts. The red building is the famous Stage Stop.
