Camping Under A Colorado Nighttime Milky Way Sky
Last weekend we did a little camping up in the Colorado high country of the rocky mountains where the night sky lights up with the milky way and galaxy above. There was a small pond next to us and lots of wildlife to see. Summertime at it’s best! Of course up here they say they have two seasons… winter…. and the fourth of July!
This was a fun night of shooting and creating fine art photography at one of my favorite hideaway places on the planet. All I am going to say is it is above Boulder at about 8500 feet.
The temperatures were in the high 90’s below and 85 up here. It dropped to down 49 when I was shooting these at about 3:00 am. The things we do to get the shots.

Just Another Sonoran Sunrise
I have said it before and I’ll say it again…. the Arizona desert goes really really well with Colorado. Spring training with the Rockies and for a place close by to beat the cold and snow. Not that Colorado winters are that bad. Especially if you like to play in the snow. Here is a view of my old stomping grounds east of Scottsdale. Out towards Saguaro Lake and Four Peaks. Scenic lush Arizona Sonoran desert view of giant saguaro cactus and the colors in the sky of another beautiful sunrise. Took this on the way out on our Arizona Thanksgiving road trip. Till we meet again!

Golden Wilderness Art Print
Beautiful aspen tree golden leaf forest in the colorful autumn season of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. This was taken in the Kebler Pass area, Gunnison County. Nature’s fall foliage at it’s best. Another season gone by. Leaves are mostly gone now and winter is on it’s way. I love it all.

Colorado Scenic Fishing Lake Fall Foliage Reflections
A scenic view across this incredible Colorado trout fishing spot, Cottonwood Lake lined with the colorful changing fall foliage of the aspen trees in the autumn season.
Cottonwood Lake is located inside South Cottonwood Canyon in the San Isabel National Forest, approximately eight miles west of Buena Vista, Colorado. Buena Vista is a very cool small town to visit. Cottonwood pass is one of the best scenic drives in Colorado. It goes over from Buena Vista to Crested Butte.

Beautiful Fall Aspen Forest
Nature’s fall foliage at it’s best, beautiful golden leaf aspen tree forest landscape in the colorful autumn season of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. This was taken in the Independence Pass area at the end of September.
Independence Pass is a high mountain pass in the Rocky Mountains of central Colorado. It is at elevation tops out at 12,095 ft on the Continental Divide in the Sawatch Range. The pass is midway between Aspen and Twin Lakes, on the border between Pitkin and Lake counties.
On July 4, 1879, a group from Leadville struck gold in the uppermost Roaring Fork valley below the pass. Four miles to the west, they established a settlement in the upper Roaring Fork Valley that eventually took the name Independence from the holiday on which it was established. The pass, the lake from which the Roaring Fork rises and another nearby mountain all took that name as well. The Twin Lakes and Roaring Fork Toll Company, established to build a road through to the camps in the lower Roaring Fork Valley, improved the original path over the pass sufficiently enough by 1880 that horses could be used for the trip.
