A scenic view across this incredible Colorado trout fishing spot, Cottonwood Lake lined with the colorful changing fall foliage of the aspen trees in the autumn season.

Cottonwood Lake is located inside South Cottonwood Canyon in the San Isabel National Forest, approximately eight miles west of Buena Vista, Colorado.  Buena Vista is a very cool small town to visit.  Cottonwood pass is one of the best scenic drives in Colorado.  It goes over from Buena Vista to Crested Butte.

Medicine Bow Mountain Range Lake Panorama

Panorama scenic lake view of the Medicine Bow Mountain Range in Wyoming west of Laramie.  Two and half hour drive from Boulder County, Colorado.  Great day trip.  This is a very large 12 portrait images stitched together fine art panorama print.

The Medicine Bow Mountains are a mountain range in the Rocky Mountains that extend for 100-mile from northern Colorado into southern Wyoming. The northern extent of this range is the sub-range the Snowy Range. From the northern end of Colorado’s Never Summer Mountains, the Medicine Bow mountains extend north from Cameron Pass along the border between Larimer and Jackson counties in Colorado and northward into south central Wyoming. In Wyoming, the range sits west of Laramie, in Albany and Carbon counties to the route of the Union Pacific Railroad and U.S. Interstate 80.

High elevations, peaks and lakes dominate the southern and northern reaches of the range, with lower, forested ridges being the mainstay in between. On the western fringes of the central portion of the range, the North Platte River cuts a deep, narrow, canyon over 20 miles long.  The range features 18 peaks over 11,000 feet and includes 9 over 12,000 feet, with 12,951 ft. Clark Peak being the highest.

Take A Drive Through A Country Rainbow

Just another country road covered my a Rainbow you can drive right through it. One of the great things about being a Lightning chaser / catcher is you get to see a lot of rainbows. My Friends always ask what I have been up to and it is always the same… chasing LIGHTNING, rainbows and Unicorns….

As always all eyes are on the sky chasing lightning bolts, rainbows and unicorns yesterday. Still waiting for our first lightning shot of the season, staying local, but may have to take a drive east.   Any way, we found a rainbow to chase. Video 4:30 version.

A snowy winter season view of the Flatirons front range to the Rocky Mountains at Chautauqua Park in Boulder Colorado. A beautiful deep clear blue sky over head with plenty of sunshine. One of the reasons the winter is an enjoyable season in Colorado. I honestly believe you can not take a bad picture of this view.

 

What a difference a day makes in Colorado. It was almost 80 yesterday with most of this snow gone and the weather will be the same today.  Spring is in the air… but again this is Colorado… March and April can be the snowiest months.
