Cloudy Hazy Denver Colorado September Super Moon
Last of the 2014 super moons, the harvest full moon was on the 8th, we had cloudy skies with no views. This is the 9th the day after the full moon known as Waning Gibbous, with a scenic view of downtown Denver Colorado. There was a brown haze as well as cloudy skies, this is the view looking east from Lookout Mountain on the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Golden Colorado.

You Are Welcome
You’re welcome Nebraska! These super thunderstorm cells come flying over the Colorado Rocky Mountains and head out east to the plains. A normal spring summer day on the Rocky Mountains foothills is waking up to clear blue skies over the mountains. By 1:00 pm the clouds start rolling in and building over the foothills sometimes by 3:00 to 4:00 it rains and clears by sunset and the best is when it kicks up at sunset and last till about 11:00pm. Those are the storms best to photograph.
This is a seven image very large panorama of a supercell heading over Denver and out NE to the plains of Nebraska.

North Metro Fire Rescue Station
Boulder County Colorado. Colorado weather at it’s best with a great storm in the afternoon going into the night keeping the temperatures down. The Lightning Storm chase started off in north Boulder County heading west to highway 36 on the foothills from Lyons (hoping for some images looking east from HWY 36) then heading south towards boulder. As I made my way west at about 8:15 pm I got out of the rain and on the side of the storm, perfect! There were some great Lightning crawlers but they were spaced at about 15 minutes apart making them very hard to catch on camera. Most of the major strikes seem to be hitting south of Lafayette and into Denver. I have certain shot compositions that I am working on so I had to see if everything would be in the right place at the right time but no luck and wasted some time. So I started off with a sunset on the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in North Boulder County hoping for a lightning strike. Next I headed back east on Nelson Road and then south on 95th street making a stop at Lookout Rd again hoping to get something good. The burst of lightning were incredible but spaced too far a apart in different direction making it hard to get on camera. The last stop was south of Louisville in 95th street south of Dillon Road with great Lightning burst. This shot is North Metro Fire Rescue Station #67 and spider lighting crawlers and one cloud to ground Strike. Just wish I would have gotten here a little earlier.
