Just Another Sonoran Sunrise
I have said it before and I’ll say it again…. the Arizona desert goes really really well with Colorado. Spring training with the Rockies and for a place close by to beat the cold and snow. Not that Colorado winters are that bad. Especially if you like to play in the snow. Here is a view of my old stomping grounds east of Scottsdale. Out towards Saguaro Lake and Four Peaks. Scenic lush Arizona Sonoran desert view of giant saguaro cactus and the colors in the sky of another beautiful sunrise. Took this on the way out on our Arizona Thanksgiving road trip. Till we meet again!

Lightning Striking Over Rollinsville Colorado
Afternoon thunderstorms roll in to the high elevation in the Colorado Rocky Mountains almost on a daily basis in the late spring into summer. Lightning strikes once or twice also moves in and out pretty fast. Mostly in the early or late afternoon time of day. It is vary hard to catch a still shot without a lightning trigger. At this time I do not use one nor have I ever used one.
This is the first image that I have caught lightning in the high elevation of the mountains. Watch the storm tracking and really though this was a good chance and it happened according to plan, 4:00pm, June 13th, 2015. 13 is a lucky number in our family because it is my sisters Kathie’s birthday. She passed away a few years ago so I can only think she had something to do with this image. Happy Birthday Kathie!
This is a view of lightning striking over Rollinsville Colorado, Gilpin County. The snow covered continental divide is right below the lightning bolts hidden in the clouds.

Dancing Thunderstorm Cell On The Horizon
Star trails and blue sky above this thunderstorm cell lit up with lightning dancing on the horizon putting on a nice show. This is a three minute exposure done by stacking eight, thirty second exposure images in a row and stacking them to keep the noise level very low.

Lightning At Sunset With Star Trails Above
Fantastic lightning show all across the eastern horizon. This is a view from Jackson Lake in Morgan County Colorado looking East. These thunderstorm cells went around us giving us a great side view and show as they went out in the NE direction right past our location. Lightning kicked up right after sunset and went on into the night. There was a day a way full moon to the right out of frame and stars shinning bright above. This is a stack image to get the star trails equal to almost a 3 minute exposure.

Lightning Striking Thunderstorm Cell And Full Moon
Isolated thunderstorm cell with cloud to ground lightning striking and a full moon above. This is a view from Jackson Lake state park in Morgan County Colorado looking due east. There were two different thunderstorm cell that went around us. Then after the sun went down we got a good show.

Watching Natures Show Panorama
Panorama view of a nice show of cloud to ground and cloud to cloud lightning strikes on the Colorado plains in this isolated thunderstorm cell east of Boulder County. Love active storms like this, it was so beautiful with the stars above and there was a moon behind me and lightning hitting south of my location as well in another floating thunderstorm cell. This is a three in a row images stack equal to a one and half minute exposure.

Fracking Lightning Storm
While driving around to catch this lightning thunderstorm I was looking for a good composition. These oil and gas fracking hoods all lit up really caught my attention with lightning strikes in the distance. This storm is heading further and further east. Started at about 9:30 pm and went to about midnight.
