A view looking up south St Vrain Creek and the south St Vrain Canyon west of Lyons, highway 7 that goes up past Raymond and Allenspark. One of the most beautiful canyons in Boulder County Colorado. It is one of my most favorites because it is the closest canyon to me and goes right past Longs Peak, Chapel on the Rocks and drops into Estes Park and Rocky Mountains National Park. If you are into fishing, the is a fly fisherman’s paradise.

The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4″ thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

All metal prints ship within 3 – 4 business days and arrive “ready to hang” with mounting hooks and nails.

Metal prints are extremely durable. They’re lightweight. They won’t bend, and they’re water resistant.

All acrylic prints ship within 3 – 4 business days and arrive “ready to hang” with four aluminum mounting posts (Option #1) or hanging wire (Option #2).
There are two different ways to mount your acrylic print.

Option #1 (Mounting Posts) – Attach your print to your wall with four aluminum mounting posts. The cylindrical cap of each mounting post can be removed, allowing you to thread a small screw along the center axis of the of post and into the wall. When you’re finished, simply reattached each cap, and you’re done. The mounting posts act as stand-offs and keep your print separated from the wall by 1″. Option #2 (Hanging Wire) – With this option, your acrylic print is attached to a 1/4″ thick black board which has a wooden frame and hanging wire attached to the back. There are no metal mounting posts at the corners. Simply put a nail in your wall, hang your print from the hanging wire, and you’re done. You have to love the Colorado Rocky Mountains with Lake views like this!  One of my most favorite places on earth Brainard Lake, the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area, Roosevelt National Forest, Boulder County, Colorado.   You are looking at the continental divide,  I used to camp up here in the middle of winter and cross county ski up to the bowls.  Just me and my dog Jeff.  Great times to remember,  but those days are gone.  You never know though….  the snow shoeing is really good here too.

Astrophotography Night Black And White Portrait View

 

A scenic portrait view into a black and white dark celestial night sky with the silhouette of a forest tree looking into a stellar starfield galaxy and universe.

Scientists believe that we can only see about 5% of the matter in the Universe. The rest is made up of invisible matter (called Dark Matter) and a mysterious form of energy known as Dark Energy.

Light from distant stars and galaxies takes so long to reach us, that we are actually seeing objects as they appeared hundreds, thousands or even millions of years ago. So, as we look up at the sky, we are really looking back in time.

Shooting stars are usually just tiny dust particles falling through our atmosphere. Comets sometimes pass through Earth’s orbit, leaving trails of dust behind. Then as Earth plows through the dust in its path, the particles heat up, creating the streaks in the night sky.

Astrophotography Night

After leaving Scottsdale Arizona to see my mom, I drove to Bryce Canyon in Utah for some astrophotography.  I arrived here in the dark so it was a little hard to find the composition I was looking for to show a little bit of the Canyon and hoodoos. Here is scenic portrait view into the colorful celestial night sky with the silhouette of a cool forest tree looking into a stellar starfield galaxy and universe.

Forests dominate the upper altitudes of the Bryce Canon Paunsaugunt Plateau containing white fir-spruce-aspen forest. Bristlecone pine lives in the high limestone knolls. Ponderosa pine and manzanita dominate the middle altitudes. Forest health and return to historic density are managed with prescribed fire. Pinyon pine-juniper forest dominates the lower elevation areas of the park. Gambel oak, cactus and yucca punctuate the lower elevation juniper forest.
