Colorado Rocky Mountain Love
You have to love the Colorado Rocky Mountains with Lake views like this! One of my most favorite places on earth Brainard Lake, the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area, Roosevelt National Forest, Boulder County, Colorado. You are looking at the continental divide, I used to camp up here in the middle of winter and cross county ski up to the bowls. Just me and my dog Jeff. Great times to remember, but those days are gone. You never know though…. the snow shoeing is really good here too.

Supermoon Over Colorado Rocky Mountains Indian Peaks BW
Sunday the 10th of August was the day of the supermoon. It rose at 7:53 pm to a cloudy horizon so there was not a good rising view from Boulder County, or at least from where I was located in North Boulder County. This is the next morning, Monday 8-11-14 as it sets at 7:17 am behind the Colorado Rocky Mountains Indian Peaks.
A supermoon is the coincidence of a full moon or a new moon with the closest approach the Moon makes to the Earth on its elliptical orbit, resulting in the largest apparent size of the lunar disk as seen from Earth. Monochrome version.

Rocky Mountain Lookout Sunset Panorama
Scenic panorama view of the front range of the Colorado Rocky Mountains from Lookout Road in Boulder County with a golden sunset sky and striped farm fields in the foreground. There is nothing like that magic hour in Colorado, it is always a pleasure to watch natures work at sunrises and sunsets. This one of my favorite places and views. Hope you like.

The rocky mountains form the Continental Divide, separating rivers draining to the Atlantic and Arctic oceans from those draining to the Pacific. The major Atlantic-bound rivers rising in the Rockies include the Rio Grande, Arkansas, Platte, Yellowstone, Missouri, and Saskatchewan. Those draining to the Arctic include the Peace, Athabasca, and Liard rivers. Flowing to the Pacific Ocean are the Colorado, Columbia, Snake, Fraser, and Yukon rivers.
RMNP spans 265,769 acres of pristine wilderness (358 square miles), making it one of the largest national parks in the United States. Before 1978, there were very few moose in Rocky Mountain National Park. In 1978 and 1979, 24 moose were relocated from Wyoming, and by 1994, the herd had grown to 700 moose. Today, most of the moose in Rocky Mountain National Park are on the western side, in and near Grand Lake.

Longs Peak Winter View
Longs Peak is one of the 54 mountains with summits over 14,000 feet in Colorado. Long’s is the only “fourteener” in Rocky Mountain National Park, and the most popular with climbers. In this image you can see snow blowing over the ridges. The East Face of the mountain as seen in this image is quite very steep, and is surmounted by a gigantic sheer cliff known as “The Diamond” named because of its shape, approximately that of a cut diamond. Trails that ascend Longs Peak include the East Longs Peak Trail, the Longs Peak Trail, the Keyhole Route, Clark’s Arrow and the Shelf Trail. Buy this print for sale online – Longs Peak Winter View
